Painting with Watercolour (8 weeks of two hour sessions)
In this course you will learn the beauty of creating stunning water colour effects using a variety of techniques and build confidence in producing your own paintings. You will:
- Challenge your preconception of what "watercolour"is?
- Learn the consistencies to work with in watercolour.
- Learn to create different textures using salt, tape and clingfilm.
- Discover the art of building up layers using "washes".
- Learn how to compose a pleasing composition, whether a still-life or a landscape.
- Learn the techniques of J.W.Turner, David Hockney and Thomas Girtin.
- Learn the different watercolour pencil techniques
- Use hues and tones effectively
- Learn how to paint using tertiary and complementary colour theory.
- Use line appropriately in your paintings.
